Joint Degree Program

JOINT DEGREE MASTER PROGRAM IN TOURISM

FACULTY OF TOURISM, UDAYANA UNIVERSITY BALI

AND GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY AUSTRALIA


LEGAL BASIS

1. MoU between Udayana University and Griffith University (signed on 21/1/97)

2. MoA between Udayana University and Griffith University (signed on 23 May 2019)

3. Decree of The Ministry of Research Technology and  Higher Education The Republic of Indonesia, No: T/952/C.C15/KS.00.02/2019, signed on 21 October 2019.


Griffith University (CRICOS Provider No: 00233E) is a public university recognized by the Government of Australia with the authority to grant bachelor, masters and higher degrees by research and is founded on the principles of social justice and access to higher education.

Udayana University is a Public University in Bali established on 17 August 1962 and accredited by The Ministry of Research Technology and  Higher Education of The Republic of Indonesia.


THE PROGRAM


The program

The program is for students who enrolled “Joint Degree Master Program in Tourism Udayana University Bali to articulate/connect into Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management, Griffith University Australia.

Duration of the program is two years, which is one year (two semesters) at Udayana University and one year (two semesters) at Griffith University.


Credit Point (CP) and Subjects

Total Credit Point (CP) for students who undertake the Joint Degree Program is 160 Credit Point, which is 80 Credit Point must be finished at Udayana University and 80 Credit Point must be finished at Griffith University. Detail Subjects and Credit Point can be seen in the Table 1.

SELECTION OF STUDENT AND ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURE

The selection and admission of students into The Master Degree in Tourism is the responsibility of Udayana University and the selection and admission of students into  The Master of International  Tourism and Hospitality Management is the responsibility of Griffith University.

1. GPA

To be eligible for entry to Udayana University’s Program, students must have:

•   Undergraduate certificate or equivalent in accordance with the field of study program,

•    Achieved a minimum GPA 2.75 on a 4 point scale.

To be eligible for admission to Griffith’s programs, the students must achieved a minimum GPA 5.5 on a 7 point scale or equivalent.


2.  ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

The minimum English language requirement for Udayana University students articulating/connecting into the Griffith Program is IELTS 6.5 (Academic) with no sub score below 6.0.

FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENT


Tuition Fee

Students enrolling at Udayana University Program will be liable for the standard fees set by Udayana University (IDR 14,250,000 per year/two semesters).

Students enrolling at Griffith University Program will be liable for the standard fees set by Griffith University ($31,500 per year/two semesters).

Accommodation

Students are responsible for the cost of their accommodation whilst studying at Griffith or Udayana University.

Visas

Students are responsible for obtaining a student visa for the length of their study.

Fees

Students will be responsible for any additional expenses in Australia or Indonesia.

Transport

Students are responsible for the cost of all international and domestic air travel.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

Students from Udayana University will automatically be charged for OSHC for the duration of their student visa including vacation periods.  Students are able to find alternative OSCH, but will need to provide evidence of this with their acceptance into the Griffith Program. Students are responsible for the cost of this cover.

Policies

Students from both institutions will be subjected to the rules, policies procedures and by-laws of the institution and country where they are studying.


DEGREE

Students who are successfully completed the Joint Degree Master Program in Tourism will obtain two Degrees, namely

1. M.Par. (Degree from Udayana University)

2. MITHM (Degree from Griffith University)


Fail in finishing the Joint Degree Program

Students who fail in completing the second year program at Griffith University, they can have a chance to undertake the second year program at Master Program in Tourism Udayana University by adjusting the subjects setting up by Master Program in Tourism Udayana University. The students must pay the tuition fees setting by Udayana University.  In this case, the students can only have one degree (M.Par) if they fulfil all of the requirements setting by Udayana University.
